Lent Day 33 Titus 2:3-10 Woman to Woman

Join Susan Downie your host as she continues in the book of Titus tackling the subject of mentoring within the early church, as Paul instructs Titus. Today we see the dynamic that Paul is advising for Older women with respect to leading the younger women within the context of house hold gatherings.

Comparing her own family dynamic or patriarchy, that of her husbands matriarchal set up,  she allows us to explore different paradigms that could occur in these groups.

In addition using her daughters life style and two daughter in laws, she highlights the value of extended family of women around a young wife and mother. Honouring her beautiful friend, wife and mother, Becky her younger daughter in laws Mother, she exemplifies how mentoring and sound doctrine works within a family setting and beyond.

Describing how Becky her friend, was able too teach mentor and lead by example  so many women and men, evidenced in a funeral almost 4 years ago, attended by over 300 plus friends and family.

Susan prays a prayer of gratitude for friendships that keep on giving even after life has ended here on earth,  and for role models for all women past, present and future.

Susan invites us all to thank the LORD, Yahweh, for our past mentors and be mindful to lead and teach sound doctrine to those of the next generation.
