Lent Day 34 Titus 2:6-10 Peer to Peer
Join Susan Downie your host as she expands further on the role of Titus in the early Cretan Church. Susan looks at the dynamic of peer to peer mentoring within the church.
Reading from Tim Chesters book Titus For You published by The Good Book Company, and the sources online, she manages to bring a fresh understanding to the struggles that Titus may have faced when trying to teach and encourage his peer group.
Susan explores the idea of younger men's attitudes and development stages. Using practical examples and the differences between her two sons, she highlights the difficulties that Titus would have been facing when attempting to lead men his own age. Called to set an example by living a life of self control titus was also to teach the gravity of Christ Crucified.
Susan concludes with an invitation to all young men listening, to find a mentor to sit under and learn from. Like Titus she advises they chose a man within their church family, a man of integrity who is following Jesus Christ in truth.
